QUARTERLY ENEWSLETTER – 2020Q1
Dear customers and friends,
It is a challenging Q1. I on behalf of Robotics Cats wish you, your family, your friends and colleagues a healthy Q2.
At the start of the new year, we published three blog posts to share the key customer benefits of InsightFD early wildfire detection system:

Fast & Accurate Dual-Sensor
Our LWIR detection is fast (as small as 2 m2 flame at 5 km).
Accurately detect fire occurrence by dual-detection (visual & infrared)
Our patented technology accurately determines fire location.
Work reliably in tough environments (dark, light polluted, hazy, windy & hilly).

Automatic & Efficient AI Recognition
Always-on Automatic AI detection. No delay nor tiredness.
Self-improving machine learning system analyses raw images on the edge
Large coverage (70k Ha per robot) and minimal manual operation.
More manpower-efficient, energy-efficient, and carbon-friendly than watchtowers and aerial fire patrol.

Intuitive & Versatile Management Platform
Easy-to-use GUI with 2D/3D maps. Supports cross platforms.
Situational awareness with real-time video & panoramic image.
Support visualization of 3rd party data via standard API.
Timestamped GIS-referenced fire records for post-event forensic and risk mitigation planning.
We launched Insight Globe Mobile app in February to empower our customers to detect wildfire when they’re not in fire control center or operation room. They can receive, view and share fire alerts on their smartphones.

We started working from home since early February to mitigate COVID-19 infection risk. We saved some time from commuting to office. We fast-tracked the development of ReportFires. It is a free web application for people to report fire locations to the authorities and share the information with the public. It is muscle memory for a smartphone user to find and share locations using map apps. We use similar technologies and user experience to help the public to provide fire location information to the government and stakeholders to take timely fire control actions. With the help from Google and StackPath, we launched reportfires.roboticscats.com in early March.

The COVID-19 caused huge turbulences to businesses around the world. We’re no exception! We cancelled all international travel and postponed our user training in Chiang Mai. However, with our newly launched Insight Globe Mobile and ReportFires apps, we successfully helped our partner to mitigate forest fire risk in Huai Hong Khrai Royal Project area, Chiang Mai in March. The following 2min video shows what we did!

Why early wildfire detection?
Similar to a virus outbreak, the earlier we detect an ignition, the faster we can take action, the more successful we can control the spread and contain the damages.
Stay healthy. Be happy.
