We were honored to join Fire Foresight at Tokio Marine‘s CORE General Assembly in Tokyo (February 25, 2026). An inspirational start to our 2026 international travel.
Our business trip to Japan (February 23–March 1) reminded us why collaboration drives climate resilience. We met the Gravio team to review our new Karuizawa PoC, visited global partner AXIS Communications for Japan market insights, joined Osaka/Kansai Deeptech Night at Venture Cafe Tokyo to understand the startup ecosystem, and capped the week by presenting alongside Nippon Koei, NTT, and industry leaders at CORE General Assembly 2026.
CORE — launched by Tokio Marine & Nichido in 2021 — unites 100+ companies across infrastructure, engineering, tech, and consulting to strengthen disaster resilience. From risk assessment to evacuation and recovery, it tackles the full value chain. Our invitation into this ecosystem is both an honor and responsibility.
We shared how Fire Foresight + RoboticsCats combine AI, computer vision, and IoT for early wildfire detection and rapid response. In Japan — where forests, infrastructure, and communities sit close together — this technology is a crucial piece of the disaster-mitigation puzzle.
What struck us most was Japan’s partnership philosophy: careful, data-driven, long-term, deeply committed to public good. Tokio Marine invests in proactive risk reduction through CORE with leaders like Nippon Koei and tech partners like us.
Flying home, we’re grateful for conversations with insurers, engineers, and innovators; for testing how our solutions fit Japan’s unique needs; and for joining a community deadly serious about resilience.
This wasn’t a trip’s end. It was our Japan collaboration Chapter One.
